Rooted in Resilience
Ramvati Bai, Rajasthan
Problem
- Extreme heat and water scarcity
- Frequent pest attacks
- Rising input costs with poor yields
Result: More efforts, little profit.
Crops
- Vegetables
Field area: 400 sq. m.
The Turning Point
In 2023, Ramvati decided to shift away from traditional farming challenges by adopting Kheyti’s Greenhouse-in-a-Box.
The Journey
Equipped with shade nets, drip irrigation, and pest barriers, the greenhouse gave Ramvati control over her crops for the first time. With training from Kheyti’s team, she grew her first vegetable crop inside the protected structure and earned a net profit of ₹26,000 in just one season. It was her highest-ever return compared to open-field farming.
The greenhouse reduced water use, minimised pest losses, lowered labour and input costs, and improved crop health. For the first time, Ramvati could plan her farming, access better markets, and invest confidently in inputs, free from weather risks.
